Cassie and Paul
Paul and I met on eHarmony in Portland, Oregon in November of 2005. Almost immediately after the open communication stage we set up a first phone call, which lasted about 4 hours! I felt so comfortable talking to Paul over the phone and I instantly felt as though I already knew what would make him laugh; the conversation flowed so easily. The next day we set up our first lunch date. We each thought the other had stood us up, since he was waiting inside the restaurant and I was waiting outside! Once we found each other we had a great first date, and I had a feeling I had never experienced before, that Paul was “The One”.
The great thing about eHarmony was that it allowed Paul and I to meet, where we otherwise wouldn’t have because we lived on opposite sides of Portland, about 45 minutes away from each other.
Although Paul and I could be considered complete opposites in personality, somehow we mesh with each other perfectly, balancing each other and enhancing the best aspects of who we are.
After my job reassigned me to El Paso, Texas, where we currently reside, Paul left his career and moved with me to support me in mine. In August 2008, Paul proposed to me in a jewelry store in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where his family resides. We are excited to be married in one short month from now in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Santa Fe, where my East Coast family will be traveling to meet his many Southwestern family members.
When we met with our wedding officiant and took a personality test, our most outstanding strength was our communication skills. Paul and I never stay angry with each or hide things which can destroy a relationship, because we have the ability to talk it out and come to a mutual understanding or agreement. This connection has allowed us to weather great storms such as relocation, career change, managing finances, and dealing with family issues. I am a believer in eHarmony because it introduced me to the love of my life, best friend, and lifelong partner- in the greatest sense of the word.
