Barb and Marvin
Marv and I met first met at a Hospice Meeting for grieving spouses in early 2007. I had recently lost my spouse, Jay, of 40 years on December 30, 2006 and Marv had lost his spouse, Tammy, of 34 years on April 24, 2006. Because he seemed to be grieving as much as I was, I approached him the first night of class and offered him my Grief Counselor’s business card. He looked at it cautiously and said he intended to contact her the next day. We became Hospice friends and continued our friendship when I started a Survivor and Thriver Dinner Group for Hospice graduates that met every three weeks. I went on eHarmony first as I continued on my healing journey and encouraged others, including Marv. He promised he would try it, and he did. We were matched the next day. We mutually decided to date others, but at a later juncture, we decided that we would date exclusively. Marv is a nuclear engineer and I am an analyst so he needed his data points and I needed to analyze all aspects of this prospective relationship.
I had purchased your CD set, Finding the Love of Your Life, because I had not dated since the early 1960s. My morals and values did not change, but the world has changed and I needed EXPERT advice. I mentioned your CDs to Marv and he could hardly wait to methodically and studiously go through them one by one. We listened to the CDs together and took the tests – and we could not find any deal breakers. For our wedding, my son and daughter will walk me down the aisle and Marv’s son will be his best man and his daughter will be my bridesmaid. Wearing eHarmony golf shirts, we’ll be heading for a Carribean Cruise - and we intend to live and love happily ever after. Thank you!
