If you’re dating in Regina this summer, here are a few ideas sure to make date night a hit:
Regina Summer Date Idea: Outdoor Movies
Shake up the traditional dinner-and-a-movie date idea with a movie night under the stars. Go for a drive and catch a flick at the Jubilee Drive-In, one of Western Canada’s few drive-in theatres, in Manitou Beach, Saskatchewan. Or stay closer to home and watch a free family-friendly film on Wednesday nights at Victoria Park. Cinema Under the Stars begins its screenings at dusk.
Regina Summer Date Idea: Regina Farmers’ Market
On Wednesdays and Saturdays from May until October, City Square Plaza transforms into one of the country’s top farmers’ markets. Shop for locally grown produce and organic baked goods together, then set out on a picnic — or head home for a romantic dinner date for two.
Regina Summer Date Idea: Play Quidditch
On Wednesday evenings in Victoria Park, you and your Harry Potter-loving date can embrace your inner Hogwarts students and play Muggle Quidditch, a nonmagical form of the game. Bring your own broomsticks.
Regina Summer Date Idea: Get Creative
Quidditch isn’t your thing? Victoria Park is offering other fun, free programs this summer. On Mondays at noon, join a free drop-in creative writing course. Or hear writers and storytellers read from their works on Wednesdays.
On Thursdays nights in City Square Plaza, bring a date and learn to salsa dance. The free lessons begins at 7, before open dancing starts at 8.
Regina Summer Date Idea: Adult Science Nights
Ever wish you could explore the Saskatchewan Science Centre — without all the kids? You’re in luck. On Adult Science Nights, the centre becomes a 19-plus venue, offering a licensed bar and snacks, and “most advanced programming and stage shows” for an older audience.

Regina Summer Date Idea: White Butte Trails
Head about 20 minutes east of the city and enjoy the great outdoors together. Now that the snow is gone, the cross-country ski trails have become more than 12 kilometres of hiking and biking trails ready for you to tackle. (There’s also a pet-friendly hiking trail available for couples who want to bring Fido along on their date.)
Regina Summer Date Idea: Wascana Centre Park
You don’t have to leave Regina to escape city life. Spend the day at Wascana Centre, a 930-hectare area in the heart of the city.
Check out an art gallery. Wander through immaculate gardens. Take in a concert. Picnic by the water. Rent a canoe. Take a self-guided tour around Wascana Hill or through the Habitat Conservation Area.
