We were matched in November 2007 and began speaking on the phone on Christmas Day 2007. She lived in North Carolina and I live in Hawaii, but despite the distance we managed to meet in person in February 2008. We met each other's families in April and were very happy that everyone was so accepting of us.

In June, while she was in Hawaii for vacation, I took her to Waikiki beach and at sunset, I got down on my knees and proposed to her. (She said yes!) And so, here we are, now happily married.
